2010 Toyota rav 4. consumer writes in complaint of the pedal location the consumer stated the brake and accelerator pedals were designed too close together which caused his foot to become trapped under the brake pedal. The consumer believed the brake pedal should be redesigned to allow for more foot clearance and provide some lighting to the floor area.
The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Rav4. The contact stated that when he depressed the brake pedal, the vehicle accelerated. The failure occurred five times. The contact stated that if his foot was pointed to the right when he depressed the brake pedal, it would touch the accelerator pedal. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact called the dealer who stated that they had no information on the failure. The current and failure mileages were approximately 1,500.
