I was driving along one day and suddenly every bump I hit sounded like gun going off. Had my Mech. look at it and he had to bring me in the garage to show me something he has never seen in all his years. On the rear passenger side, the piece of metal that holds the entire rear shock assembly and the rear axle for that matter had broken away from the chassis. He said had the other side gave way my entire rear end axle would have flown off the vehicle!!! He replaced a thick metal part and also did some structural work with some welding involved. I think Toyota needs to check on their steel quality. Can't imagine what an entire rear axle flying off the vehicle on the freeway would have looked like, and I don't want to!
