Rav 4 2007 limited fail steering part of NC State inspection. Parts replaced by dealer were Both inner tie rod ends - 4 nut flanges - Both front sway bar links - Both lower ball joint assemblies - Both lower ball joints.
Rav 4 subsequently passed NC state inspection. Drove it (Sunday) for about 15 minutes and the squealing started from the right front around the sway bar and ball joints. Car was in drive at idle - brake depressed - squealing stops. My foot was off the brake, moving forward turning to the right or left the squealing starts and will remain constant until full stop with engine off.
The steering gear assembly is going bad, maybe, but there is no clunking or vibrations felt in steering wheel. Is this metal on metal contact, involving the new sway bar and tie rods? Toyota has issued a service bulletin (tsb 0318 08), but I cannot access the bulletin. After reading the 265 complaints against the 2007 RAV I am concerned that steering failure will occur and cause a wreck? The RAV 4 2007 steering issues date back for over 10 years, why not a firm fix?
