I have a 1993 Red Pontiac Trans Am, whose paint looks better than my 2007 Toyota Rav4 - Now that is sad.

I only had the car less then 3 yrs and noticed after I had washed it that there were perfect circles on my car in different places.. there are about ten all over my car. My husband asked at the dealership about it and they told him that it wasn't under warranty and that if he waxed it and buffed it that it might come out. Well, we had waxed it but it never came out and it is still like that. I would never buy another white car again. It really is starting to look like my car wasn't even painted right. I guess I'm stuck with a lemon no matter how I look at it. They won't do anything about the oil consumption and they sure haven't done anything about my paint job on my car. I love my Rav but it hurts to know that the dealership won't stand behind what they sell.

I work for a Buick, GMC dealer and they are always trying to talk me into buying their Encore, I really don't want to switch to one, but after what I've been through with the Toyota dealer, I think I might get better treatment. I've had nothing but Toyota vehicles since 1999 and can't see myself in anything but Toyota, but if this is what I get when I try to have something done... then maybe I should do some serious thinking after all.

I first noticed some rough, patchy areas on the roof at the end of 2011. It wasn't dirt or grime. Tried using clay, just in case, but it turned out the clear coat was deteriorating rapidly. I finally had the roof painted by a local company, which did a fairly good job, but cracked the roof racks a bit in the process of getting them off. Now, about a year after having the roof painted, the same problem is wracking the hood. Small areas, about .25" in area, along with what appear to be lines about 1-2" long are appearing where the clear coat has definitely broken free. It looks crappy. Mechanically the RAV4 has been excellent, but I will never buy another Toyota, simply because of this poor paint job. I'm now in the market for another car, and there are much better choices out there.
