The vehicle started to diesel and misfire on start. Problem worsened rapidly. Confirmed blown head gasket by testing for exhaust gases in coolant. Quoted $1900+ for for head gasket replacement which no one wanted to do. Quoted $4000 - $6900 to have a used engine installed. Replaced the gasket myself. Not an easy job, took about 18hrs moving slowly and carefully. Total parts cost was about $150.
