The low beams have been replaced many times in order to attempt to correct this problem. At this point, 110,400 miles, I could replace the lights with plug-in night lights and see better. I have to either follow closely behind another car to use its lights at night or use the high beams. When following another car, the driver ahead states that the lights look like little flashlight beams, not the strong beams, the cheap dollar flashlight beams that burn out after 10 uses. This problem is ongoing.
It makes me think that Toyota does not consider safety at night a priority. Although I like most Prius features, this problem makes me cautious about future Toyota vehicle choices. After all, is great gas mileage important if you drive off a cliff because the lighting is so poor?
