I was taking a trip with my family for the weekend when my tire went out on Highway 70 West. I was able to make it off the highway safely to a NTB tire shop in Dublin Ohio. When I proceed to get a tire to get a new tire to replace the one that was flat, I was surprised to find out that the tire on my 2024 Toyota Prius was an odd tire size that was not available at this shop. They tried to contact the Toyota dealer to see if they have it and to our surprise the dealer didn’t have it either. Everyone we contacted didn’t have it and told me I would have t0 wait days for a tire. The tire size and brand that was on this vehicle was a Bridgestone 195/60/r17 tire and was not readily available. This caused me and my family to be stranded in Dublin to where we now have to abandon our car since there was no spare in this car, no lug tool and no jack to even get it mobile again.
We had to now rent a vehicle to get to our original destination which was not easy since it was a Saturday and everything was closing early. Thank God we had a friend in Dublin that was able to get us to a rental company that was open. We now have a I’ll for a rental that wouldn’t have happened if Toyota had a tire on my vehicle that was available or had included a spare tire in the trunk. When I opened a case on the phone with Toyota they were very dismissive of the situation and didn’t accept fault for causing this problem or any compensation for it. I am now looking for other 2024 Toyota Prius owner who would like to join me in a class action lawsuit against Toyota for what they have done. If it haven’t happened to you yet it will and you will be stranded when it does. Also to bring awareness to other owners that Toyota did this on the 2024 Toyota Prius. My 2020 Prius had a spare tire and the tires were available at all tire shops. I need others to join me so we can get justice against them. Thanks
