The head unit shuts down (most of the time, but not always) when Siri is engaged by saying 'Hey Siri' (at all, for any reason) or phone is engaged in talk-to-text mode. A green microphone typically appears on the head unit when the voice command prompt through phone feature is accessed either via the phone screen itself or verbally requesting Siri. The head unit then goes black and performs a full reboot which takes approximately 1--15 seconds.
I've tried the following: Unpairing, re-pairing phone Deleting phone from car memory and setting up again Turning off phone, turning phone on again, re-pairing Having software updated at the dealership (at one point, Toyota admitted this was a "known issue.")
At this point in time, I cannot reliably utilize Siri in my vehicle, and currently have no reliable hands free mechanism to communicate with my phone if necessary.
