My 2014 Toyota Prius has an ABS and traction control light on. I took it to AutoZone and used a code reader to pull the codes and I got a code C1391. That means either the brake booster has failed or the master cylinder is leaking. When I called the dealer they were very familiar with the problem and offered zero help other than a bill of $4800 to fix. This is a known problem, so much so that SOME vehicles were recalled and others were given just a "Customer Support Program" where they would help fix "if the parts. were available" but only if the car was under 10 years old or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first.
The customer support program bulletin tells service writers to not tell customers about the program, so they won't have to foot the bill once the car doesn't meet the requirements. There is a lawsuit to include these cars in the recall but for the poor people with this problem like me who have 170,000 miles, we're screwed. Thanks Toyota for giving us trash and leaving us with the bill and no car.
