Consumer sent additional vehicle door locks malfunction correspondence. The consumer rented a Toyota Prius and a Ford Focus on separate occasions. The electronically operated locks on the vehicles doors caused the interior door-open levers to become inoperative. The consumer used the wireless remote to unlock the doors and sat in the back seat of the Prius. The doors locked with no effort from the consumer. The door levers on the both rear doors were inoperable. The consumer crawled to the driver's seat in order to exit the vehicle. The consumer rented a 2013 Ford Focus on December 30, 2014. The electric window controls were inoperable, as well as the interior door-open lever. Updated 03/28/2017
The contact owns a 2013 Toyota Prius. The contact stated that the steering wheel pulled to the left and right while driving various speeds. The contact had to use excessive force to steer the vehicle in its appropriate lane. In addition, the door locks activated independently and failed to unlock occasionally with the electronic control. The dealer attempted to correct the steering wheel failure by performing an alignment, but the failure recurred. The door lock failure was not corrected. The manufacturer was not notified.
