When I turn the front defrost off by pressing the front-defrost button again, the AC comes on. And it stays on, even in winter. There is no 'heat' button on this car, so the only solution is to turn the AC off, then hit "auto" again to get heat. When I turn the front defrost off by pressing the 'off' button, it goes off but the light that indicates it is on remains lit. And why is there no heat button? The "auto" button doesn't always work--even when the temperature difference inside/outside the car is 15-20 degrees.I don't need AC if it's 40 degrees outside.
Update from Apr 21, 2016: Every time I mention this to the dealer, they punch the buttons and look bewildered. And never do anything about it.
