First, the headlights should never point as low as they do when the headlight level system fails. And second, the system gives no error message. The combination of these two bad designs clearly endangers the life of anyone driving the Toyota Prius.

headlights so dim have to use brights; have replaced numerous times; very very dangerous and damn annoying.

Low beams got very dim. I replaced the lamp, but that didn't fix the problem. Not sure what to do.

I bought the car as a 2010 leftover in 2011. Sincé then I have had to replace four headlights. When I went online to research the issue, I found this site and upon reading the complaints, I realized that my lights are also very dim causing me to use the high beams frequently. It makes night driving very challenging and uncomfortable.

When through several light bulbs after a short period of time because they would quit illuminating properly making it unsafe to drive at night.

If your head lights do not shine straight across, and you go to make a right turn, you could end up in the ditch or hit a person. you can also go into the left lane, which i do as long as no cars are coming. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
