Every 4 to 6 months head-lights are keep burning out. I keep replacing so many times. Today I Googled to know that does any experiences the same, then I come to know that it's very common problem with Prius 2010/2011. Please let me know what should I have to do. Tomorrow I'm going to dealer and lets what they are saying. Thanks.
I have had five low beam headlights burn out on the right side. Was told wiring harness should be replaced but its $425 as opposed to $28 headlamps from my repair place. The left side burnt out once. Dealer said my headlights were not covered by the recall.
After having one headlight blow out, I decided to replace it myself. Then, a few months later, I received a letter in the mail from Toyota Corporation asking me to bring my car in to be fixed. Sure enough the timing couldn't be any better, I had another headlight blow out; so, I brought my car in.
Toyota service department said that they would replace the headlight for free and that I was to bring my car back in again once they received new wiring looms for both headlights and that they would do all this for free. It took several months before they got the parts from Toyota Corporation. I had one more headlight blow out before the new wiring looms were put in and Toyota honored their promise to replace the light for free.
Note: Replacing headlights for free only apply to this year make and model; unless you receive a letter from Toyota Corporation stating otherwise.
