I took the car to the dealer as my headlight on both sides doesn't work sometimes. They said it would cost $400 to replace. I also had to get the small battery replaced for $300 about 3 weeks ago. I could buy a lot of gas with $700. Looking at other complaints of Pruis owners seem to be similar.

My Toyota Prius has generally been a good car except for the headlights. Both started going out intermittently but since I don't drive much at night and you could turn them off and then back on I didn't do anything.. They would stay on for a little while and one or the other or both started going out more often. At approximately, 60,000 miles I went to the Centennial Toyota where I had purchased the car and they said the extended warranty stopped at 50,000 miles. The cost to replace both headlights would be $600. This is outrageous! Does anyone know of a cheaper way to replace these lights? I need help!!!!!

TOYOTA SAYS THEY HAVE TO LOWER THE BUMPER TO REPLACE A BULB THAT THEY SAY IS ONLY $150 AS A FAVOR TO ME. THEN THERE WAS $129 IN LABOR. I HAVE READ THAT IT DOESN'T TAKE BUT A FEW MINUTES TO DO THE JOB AT A TOYOTA PLACE BECAUSE THEY HAVE DONE IT ALL BEFORE AND IT DOES NOT TAKE THAT LONG.

WHY THEY WOULD ENGINEER THE NEED TO TAKE DOWN THE BUMPER TO REPLACE A LIGHT BULB IS INSULTING.

NOT, 28,000 MILES LATER THE OTHER SIDE IS DOING THE SAME THING. WHICH MEANS THAT AT THIS RATE AND ADDITIONAL TWO CAR PAYMENTS EVERY THREE YEARS JUST TO CHANGE HEADLIGHTS.
