Problems began sometime last yr. The accelerator will jump intermittently but appears worse when the ground is wet and the conditions of the road are not optimal. This has occurred with multiple drivers in different situations. When the "jump" occurs it has no correlation to force applied to the accelerator. The most common example of what happens is the accelerator is pressed, the car then violently jumps causing the driver to quickly take the foot off the pedal. There has been no extreme acceleration at any point but the problem is occuring more frequently and make driving the vehicle a bit of a concern now especially during windy, rainy, and bad road conditions. Im concerned that this is something that will continue to become worse and might lead to an accident. Note: this is the same yr/model prius as the one that experienced accelerator lock in San Diego this past weekend, article- http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_runaway_prius. Thank You
