The combination meter on my 2008 Prius was starting to fail and I had no dash lights. Because of this I couldn't see my speed or gas gauge. I ended up running out of gas on the highway because I didn't realize I was also only getting 35 mpg so miscalculated how much gas I had. It was a scary experience and frustrating because the repair cost $850.
This still has been a reliable vehicle for me though I have decided to upgrade after this experience.
