Warning light triangle on dash comes on after severe loss of engine performance and deceleration. Engine eventually shuts off and car dies (on road, highway, etc.) Returned to Toyota Dealer and they diagnosed a low 12 volt battery. Replaced with new battery and problem persists.

Over the past month the red exclamation point inside a triangle (aka Master Warning light) appears for maybe 15 seconds almost daily, some times multiple times during an 8mile trip. The owners manual was useless except for giving it a name. On Toyota websites all I find is that it should be accompanied by another symbol indicating which system is affected, but I've not come across a second symbol. It seems mostly to happen while rounding a curve, but happens at slow or fast speeds (e.g. Taking a highway off ramp at speed limit, or just backing out of a parking space.) It is always alarming when it comes on (especially to my teen with a learners permit!)

Any suggestions as to how dangerous it may be/ urgency to get diagnosis/fixed?
