I was totally excited to take a test drive in my Toyota Prius, if I liked it which I did, I could take the car home right away. I was driving my Chevy 4/4 K truck 75 miles both ways each day to work. I was ecstatic!!!! I was getting 45 - 50 miles per gallon! When it rained one day, my tune changed. That car was spinning all over the road....an indicator light kept coming on to tell me ---sliding, sliding, sliding-- NO KIDDING!!!! Once the snow hit, I was in a real disaster. I let my son use my vehicle and he started sliding. He didn't stop until he hit the snow bank and the whole front end fell apart!
One of my other sons immediately took me to get new tires and that certainly helped a little bit, however, I then lost 10 miles per gallon in gas! This winter, I could not even get the car up my driveway when it was snowing, only about a 20 degree incline over 18 feet.
They spend money on little gadgets to say your slipping when they should be spending money to do an all wheel drive vehicle in a state where there is snow...Last week, during another snow storm, I came down a hill with a curve at the bottom and ended up going over a 4 foot retaining because the car could not turn on the curve with the snow. Get safe vehicles for Michigan - please.
Unless I am not working it properly their defrost and heating system SUCKS! It takes more than a half hour to get it ready for driving and then it continually steams up as you go. My pick up truck has the best defrost system and I don't have to let it sit past 5 minutes..
There is also a very bad blind spot on the passenger side. When you think its clear and go to move over, low and behold, a car is there!
One last thing, you know how the weather men are never right about snow or rain etc. well, they have a little gage inside the car which looks like crossed skis and it means its snowing....who the heck needs to know its going to snow. I'm in the car and it is not snowing now! Why spend money for foolish gadgets like that especially when they're not accurate.
