Had no problems with car until 109k miles and the dash lit up like a christmas tree. Take the car to Advanced Auto Parts and the code comes back hybrid battery pack. Toyota's price was going to be $3500.00 to fix with no type of warranty on the new battery. I bought a refurbished hybrid battery pack from priusrebuilders.com and installed it myself for about $1000.00. I bought the car used with 58k miles and would have been happy if the car died at 200k miles. I fixed the car and sold it. Basically don't be surprised if battery pack goes out at 100k miles. I was told the reason a lot of these battery packs die if from sitting and not being driven. I drove my car almost every day for the 3 years I owned it. The only thing I can think of is when the car sitting on the used car lot waiting to be resold. I am now looking to get a Corolla or equivalent.
