steering lost control when braking hard left
while entering freeway traffic became quickly to a halt - i had to brake to avoid car i front, while i turned left at this point steering lost full control as if something became broken crossed four lanes of traffic and hit the wall divider in center of freeway. at approx 50mph head on, i was not wearing seat belt, im 50 now and never broke a bone before that day, but my leg went thru my hip socket in the effort to stop vehicle while braking - it has changed my life forever, emotionally and physically, every step i take ever since that day is painful, i walk with limp and am need of minimum hip replacement - i get a safety recall letter dated 10/29/12 well over a year after accident.. explaining possibility of nuts coming loose on pinion steering shaft, yada, yada increasing the risk of a crash. are the ending words of this letter. well i let the vehicle go. after the crash. i had no insurance medical or liability on top of that i never even registered it in my name. but some how the recall letter made it to me, which i still have along with the signed off title. when i got this recall letter for some reason i dont know why i opened it because it was something i would trash, but after reading the recall, i say "thats what happened to me" - but i speak only to a couple attorneys and only one made it clear - no car no case and there is a 2 year statue of limitation. it all adds insult to my injury - and it is not about money to me - although i am almost homeless right now and its over a million dollar injury - i want my health back, my life back, it has cost me much, job relationship, ect...at this point i know im just gripping but if anyone know something that can help the outcome of other that just acceptance - my email is shadydavid@hotmail.com thanks for reading, david s
