In 2009 Toyota came out with a new sharp style Matrix with powerfully 2.4 engine instead of 1.8 . So I bought it after what I thought was a long test drive. After having it for a while It started bugging me with the road noise driving literally any where. I mean the car is awesome looking but the road noise and the bumpy ride is finally starting to drive me nuts. So since it has those showy 17 inch rims with hardly any tires meat on them to absorb simple roads conditions. It looks like 2 inches and makes a really terrible bumpy ride. It may look cool but sucks as a comfortable ride. To get a better normal quiet ride you have to buy thicker tires and rims, but here is the catch I went to a tire place instead of Toyota because I am tired of paying them 300% on everything they do to my car , my god they try to charge me $360 for a new key forget that. Anyway the tire place said they can only go to 16 inch because the calibers and rotor are huge you cant go to 15 inch which would of made it ride better, he try to put a 15 inch rim on it but didn't clear the caliber brake system it got stuck no clearance at all. Bummer and 16 aren't going to do much for a better ride because its only another inch more tire meat.
I am starting to realize that their was no solution, can you believe this , I bought a $20,000 car that rides like a old milk truck it looks cool but is bumpy and rides terrible really uncomfortable ride you hear every bump and road condition . I feel like a idiot buying this car without testing it more further . I fell hopeless so does any one know a solution? Please help If I sell this I will loose thousands, because once you the lot the car is worthless. Thank you
