Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 Toyota Land cruiser. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 18V887000 (air bags, seat belts). The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair as the recall notice was received over a year ago. Savannah Toyota (11101 abercorn St, savannah, ga 31419, (912) 927-1234) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was contacted several times and provided case numbers: 18882709371 and 1904010402. The manufacturer was unable to confirm when the parts were to become available. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Toyota issued a recall on their faulty passenger seatbelt and it's rendering of the passenger side seatbelt useless late in 2018. When/how can nhsta encourage or force Toyota to take corrective action on this safety problem?
Takata recall I was informed about the recall what I believe to be the interim stage of the process. I do not, and have not felt safe driving my vehicle. A 'loaner' vehicle has not been made available despite repeated months of attempts. A remedy engineered fix has not been made available. My family is incapacitated by having both of our Land cruisers not able to be driven. Toyota dealerships have misrepresented the cost incurred by my family if we wanted a 'loaner' vehicle. Both the corporations and dealerships refuse to promise a specific time in which a sufficient alternative 'loaner' vehicle can be provided for my singular case. We are trapped.

I received notification in January that there was a recall for the passenger airbag in this car. I have been waiting over 2 months for a remedy--it's listed as "interim" in Toyota's system apparently. I was told by the dealer not to allow anyone in the passenger seat until the defect is fixed. This is a major disruption to my life. I can't imagine why it is taking so long to correct a defect with such significant consequences.
