The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Land cruiser. The contact was driving approximately 20 mph when the accelerator pedal was depressed and there was friction. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the technician lubricated the accelerator pedal and stated that the accelerator pedal may need to be replaced. The failure continued to occur after the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified regarding the failure; however, the manufacturer had not returned the contacts call when the complaint was filed. The failure mileage was 38,940. Updated 10/05/10 the manufacturer and dealer agreeded to replace the pedal. The consumer had to pay $120 of the $560 repair. Updated 10/07/10
