We bought our Toyota brand new from the dealership in 2019. The dealership performed every scheduled maintenance on the car and they always had updated contact information for us.
On August 6, 2021 my husband and I were over 100 miles away from our home when our car abruptly stopped in the middle of an intersection. The car was not driveable so we called for a tow truck and we’re able to locate a rental car. The problem was due to to the recalled faulty fuel pump which we had NEVER been informed of. The fuel pump was replaced free of charge but we had charges of approximately $450.00 for towing and car rental.
I filed a claim through Toyota asking for compensation which was denied, I called and another claim was filed also denied. Then on or about September 2, 2021 we received via mail the notice informing us of the ongoing fuel pump. The first we have ever heard of it. It was our first and last Toyota we will ever own, if they can’t stand behind their work and compensate monetarily for problems they cause.
