You will notice that the year of this car is 2006 and I state that the problem started January 2006.
I have been complaining about low mileage of 20 to 23 MPG since I bought the car when new.I was told at first that it would get better and that hasn't happened. I have faithfully had the car serviced every 5000 miles and each time complained and always got some half ass reply. The time before the last time I took the car in because I kept hearing what sounded like a small pump running when I turned the key off. What they found was causing the pumping noise was a faulty ABS actuator assembly. After that visit my mileage dropped down to 17 MPG so I took the car back in and complained. The service writer gave me this half ass answer. "It's probably the age of the car".
My car at that time only had 90255 miles on it. I let him writ up the work order to perform fuel injection service which was done and air conditioner filters were changed. All to the sum of $248.89. And now my feelings are hurt because I feel I have let someone fast talk me.
Do you have any suggestions what could be causing this 2006 Toyota Highlander hybrid to all of a sudden drop from 23 MPG to !7 MPG.
One of the reasons I bought this car was what the window poster said, city MPG 33, Highway MPG 28. I said with a savings like that I will be able to buy a new battery when that time comes, NOT so. Any help would be appreciated.
