In the process of turning left onto a highway, the engine shut off and the Highlander kept going left with the steering wheel locked left. This was DIRECTLY into the path of the next car causing a head-on collision. Since there was NO power, there was no power steering and no brakes and it was too late to try to start the engine. Even if there was NO car collision I would have hit the guardrails!
Update from Apr 29, 2021: The reason the steering wheel locked is because the engine shut off. Apparently there was a recall on a sensor that could cause a stall resulting in an accident. The Highlander STALLED, the engine shut off, and the was an ACCIDENT resulting in a total loss and a visit to the hospital.
