New car, first one in a long time! Excited! First heavy rain in the car, it hydroplaned severely. Tires are pretty good in the dry weather so very unexpected.
How can a reputable car maker like Toyota act with such recklessness. The online reviews about this tire, the Toyo A20, clearly indicate that people have the same problem with this tires in the rain. Called Toyota and they told me to go pound sand. Of course, they sincerely apologized, but since tires are not covered by Toyota nothing they can do.
Please beware when buying a new Toyota that you negotiate good tires as Toyota does NOT CARE much about the safety of its consumers. Honestly any sign of goodwill would have been great but not from Toyota! Their dealers lost a customer and Toyota lost a customer in the future. It really does not take long for my bad experiences to get out there and hopefully help others. They send you and your new car packing. Thankfully no one was injured and now we now we have to drive our new car significantly below speed limit in the rain for the first time in a couple of decades. Truly unbelievable!
