This wind noise problem must have an easy fix which only manufacture can do.

Shame on Toyota with their luxury SUV.

Highlander LE Plus V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 4,801 miles

I purchased this new 2017, Toyota Highlander, LE Plus and the wind noise is terrible an annoying. This vehicle has less than 5,000 miles on it. I've taken it to the dealership (two different one) in the last few weeks and no solution to repair it. The last Toyota Dealership representative says they are waiting on a recall. They say the wind noise is coming from the mirrors. Before you spend your hard earned money, test drive the Highlander and make sure you're not stuck with this problem...

Highlander XLE 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 200 miles

Just bought a 2017 Toyota Highlander XLE, what a nightmare, the wind noise is so annoying. I can't believe it was on the lot to buy. I am so angry. I have searched online, tried taping, can't figure out. I think it could be the side mirrors. This is not normal. Who in their right mind would want to listen to a wind funnel when driving. Toyota is supposed to be so great, they obviously have quality control issues.

Update from Nov 8, 2017: I took the care in to local Toyota dealer and they stated it was a characteristic of car. I wanted to get rid of it right then and there. I acutally was willing to take a loss just to not have to listen to that noise, but i drove down state from Northern Michigan and took to the actual dealer I bought car from. The service guy drove with me and agreed with me about the noise, coming from both sides and he will need for a couple of days. I dropped off the following Monday, they gave me a rental, change for door moldings (silver trim around windows). It is much better. The only noise now is from side mirror turbulence which i am still testing out whether to take back in or not.. Also, I sent an e-mail to Toyota corporate and they did call me about issue. At that time my car was at dealer getting repaired, but they assigned case number and said to call them if it was not fixed. It was nice to know they seemed to care. Over all, I have never had such a rough start in purchasing a new car, thru persistence and a good Toyota service department we got the job done.

Went to dealership with issue we bought our car in January and we have had a slight wind noise coming from the passenger side door/window. My wife went to the dealer yesterday and was there for 2 hours + they ended up saying that she had to live with the problem! talked to a friend of mine from church who happens to be a service manager at a different car dealership. Said that there are numerous things that can be done for this and that Toyota should stand behind this. We spent a lot of money for this car and dont think that we should have to live with a wind noise! Anyone else have this issue? Way to solve?

I bought my 2017 Highlander brand new with 10 miles. The first week or two were fine, but then I started a noticing a loud whistling, almost squealing wind noise that comes from the passenger side door/window. The noise is very loud & ear-piercing. I took my car to the dealership & let the service Manager drive it. He heard the noise & agreed that it's very loud & annoying. He then drove the other Highlanders on the lot & noticed that the other ones make the same noise. The service Manager has been helpful & has been talking to Toyota to try to resolve the problem, but it's been a month & nothing has happened. It's infuriating to pay that much money for a brand new vehicle that I don't enjoy driving & literally get a pounding headache every time I drive it.
