Smelly odor coming from a/c was especially noticeable when you first start the truck. I first replace Cabin air filter and while the smell did improve a bit, it didn't eliminate the odor. Finally I purchased an A/C refresher kit from Toyota dealership that cost me $35, its a two part spray can system - one is spray foam, you spray from the drain line from where the a/c condensation leaks out from. Then the other can, you spray from the fresh air intake passenger side by windshield (theres a youtube video just type in Toyota A/C refresher Kit) just make sure to remove the cabin air filter when doing this. Honestly, after just the foam spray on the drain line, I noticed the smell went away, so I think the other smaller can is just to make it smell good. Overall it was an easy fix and hopefully this helps someone.
