The contact owns a 2016 Toyota Highlander. While driving 60 mph, the contact heard an abnormal explosion sound. Once the contact exited the highway and pulled over, she observed that the sun roof had fractured. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that they were aware of the failure, but there was no recall in place. The contact was advised to schedule an appointment and that the sun roof would be replaced free of charge. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (lia Toyota of wilbraham, 2145 boston rd, wilbraham, MA, 01095) where the sun roof was replaced for free. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.
