This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The power lift-gate door does not open or close properly, broke about 50000 miles after the 36 months or 36,000 miles. The car was Toyota certified. I feel this should be handled as a recall instead of tsb because it was a designed issues reason Toyota upgraded with better designed hinges. Also, it will be nice if Toyota informed us about the tsb by writing so owner can double check.
The open rear automatic door failed, immediately closing on my wife's back as she was removing a bag from the rear cargo area. The failure happened without warning and came down hard. As the vehicle is out of warranty, Toyota would not replace at their cost.
