I bought brand new Toyota Highlander only to find out, the same week, seat frames are rusted. When I complained to dealer, they passed it on to Toyota Canada which said it was normal, not a defect. Dealer told me all Highlander have rust, even the one they have in the showroom at the time. They disconnected battery of vehicle in showroom at the time so I was not able to open rear door and see frame of back seat. Dealer just painted over some of the rust but said they could not paint all the rust because of moving parts. I have all e-mail to and from dealer with pictures as shown.
