CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2010 Highlander's rear liftgate thinks it's open when it's closed and then once it's actually open, you might not be able to shut it again. Remember folks, if your liftgate is stuck open for more than 4 hours, consult your mechanic.

At around 38,000 miles and around 3 months after the warranty expired, the starter went out. I contacted Toyota and my local dealer and no one would help. Luckily, I was able to find a rebuilt part and a trusted mechanic friend installed and saved me a lot of money. This along with the rear door sensor constantly indicating the rear door is open and the front driver window coming off track a lot has helped me decide to never buy a Toyota again. Their products lack the most basic of quality and their customer support is equally as bad.
