I bought the car used from Autonation...reported to them within 30 days the problem with the car alarm going off for no apparent reason...the car salesman said it was just humidity...went off a couple of times after that...then we went home for 6 months..upon return the alarm triggered for the next three nights and drained the battery each time....took the car to auto nation and they said the have a "technical service bulletin" to replace the hood latch and that will fix the problem...charged us around $300.00 to replace the latch....we owned the car for 11 months....notified the dealer about the problem within 30 days after purchase of the vehicle....they said it was humidity.....I feel we got screwed....they put the defective latch on the car in the first place.....the latch could be a safety concern if it let loose.....I feel customers should be notified of "technical service bulletins"....and those problems should be repaired at no cost to the consumer......I would give Toyota and Autonation 1/2 star out of 5!
