First time in over 20 years, we've had to have a transmission replaced in a vehicle. This car has been properly maintained at the dealership. As we have owned Toyotas for the past 16 years and 1 of the vehicles upon trade- in was over 120,000 miles without any transmission problem, we are shocked that our 2008 Highlander with 84,000 miles needs a replacement. Transmission specialist tells us this is a rare occurrence.
