AT 106,000 MY HIGHLANDER'S HYBRID INVERTER FAILED. OF COURSE THE WARRANTY WAS TO 100,000. THIS IS A $7000 PART AND TOYOTA SAYS IT'S MY PROBLEM AND THEY WILL NOT HELP IN ANY WAY. I'VE READ MANY THINGS ON THE INTERNET AND SPOKEN TO A FEW MECHANICS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM WITH 2006 AND 2007 HIGHLANDERS. THERE WAS A RECALL BUT MY VIN DOES NOT FALL WITHIN THE RANGE. THE HARROWING PART IS THAT THIS HAPPENED WHEN I WAS DRIVING ALONG THE ROAD AT ABOUT 40 MPG. SUDDENLY ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH LIT UP AND THE CAR LITERALLY DIED. I WAS LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO COAST TO A STOP WITHOUT GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT. IT WAS SO SCARY. THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM AND I HOPE TOYOTA RESOLVES IT BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED.
