Rear Differential pinion bearing failure diagnosed by AAMCO and 2 other local mechanics. Differential and Gear specialist in Huntington Beach will fix for $900.

Problem began with the increasing hum in the cabin. The noise is louder now. This vehicle has never been abused. Never taken off road. Maintenance has been done as needed. Really a disappointment. Not driving it too much until I can figure out course of action.

Bearing need replacing already and the dealership quoted me $2500 to fix.

Toyota would not help with this issue because out of warranty. Will not admit this is an issue with this year FJ and they don't care because they stopped building them.
