failure of front differential at 150 to 200 thousand miles

Because they do not want to warranty it, Toyota is covering up that the front differential on FJ's is defective and can fail at higher miles, 150,000 plus. The bearing holding the drivers side drive axle is weak and will develope to much play at higher mileage. This can cause your seal to fail, you will lose all the fluid in the differential and be stranded. It is a simple fix. If when the drive axle is replace (a normal maintenance procedure) an aftermarket bushing from East Coast Gear Supply is installed ( It only takes an additional half an hour to an hour to install) it will never happen. I am not talking just FJ's with lift kits, any FJ. Mine is dead stock and I only found out about this problem from an alert front end tech. I was lucky. You may not be. When I went to Toyota for parts the parts man claimed He had never ordered this part before. I am talking about the stock part. You have to research on line to find out anything. Thank God for the internet. No telling how many have failed and how many will. Toyota won't tell. They will charge you an large amount of money to fix it. It won't be a defective bearing, but your whole differential, plus towing, plus car rental, plus your time and heartache. Shame on Toyota!
