The contact owns a 2001 Toyota Echo. While driving various speeds, the air bag and check engine indicators illuminated. The contact also stated that the gear shift indicator did not illuminate when changing gears. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop where the computer was reset, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 155,000.
The contact owns a 2001 Toyota Echo. The contact stated that while driving at 20 mph, the vehicle accelerated without warning. The vehicle crashed into a house garage door and the air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained a waist injury and the front passenger sustained chest and arm injuries which required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.
Consumer's vehicle was struck from behind by another vehicle at about 5 mph. In turn, consumer's vehicle hit the car in front. Upon impact the air bags did not deploy.
The consumer (which is the mother of the person who sent this correspondence)-had come to a curve where she misjudged the turn, and caused her to slide off of the right side of the road and hit a pine tree. The impact ignited a fire under the hood. The driver side air bag did not deploy.
Vehicle was in full frontal collison with another vehicle, entire front was smashed and the air bags did not deploy, one person was injured in the accident.

Consumer was involved in a full frontal collision, however the airbags failed to deploy, consumer was informed by Toyota that the airbags were not designed to deploy, due to the other vehicle being larger than consumers vehicle.
