My daughter was involved in a fender bender with a semi-truck in her NEW 2019 Toyota Corolla, what would seem to just involve a wrinkled up hood ended up causing the engine to catch on fire? We are so outraged at the fact that 1. The brake mitigation or warning did not go on 2. The car caught on fire so quickly. The truck driver she hit used a fire extinguisher to quell the flames but they would not go out until the fire department arrived. By that time, the entire front end of the car was in flames (even a cell phone in the front seat melted). I am disappointed in the Toyota brand, and I worry for others who may be involved in an accident more severe and how the car would react then.
