Car has had master cylinder and brake booster replacement prior to this incident with genuine Toyota parts at a Toyota dealership. Tried to come to stop on interstate to navigate around road debris. Brakes failed to engage and pedal went to floor with a hiss sound. Hit two cars and guardrail trying to dive into median to stop while engaging engine brake. Total damages did not include property damage or other vehicles involved, just mine.
Toyota was notified and brought to dealership in Jacksonville. Diagnosed with a pinion and caliper hung open on the right front wheel. Ultimately this led to reduced braking power and strain on master cylinder and brake booster which also had to be replaced again. I had the car for a week once it came back from repair and body shop and brakes failed again. Car towed back to dealership and was given as an owner surrender, as Toyota failed to further investigate these repeated failures.
