In June 2022 I had the transmission on my 2014 Toyota Corolla LE replaced with a used one (having 80,000 km/.50,000 miles). Repair costed 3700 $ US (5500 $ CAN) tax included and it lasted 9 (nine) months till I started again hearing a loud noise when shifting into "drive" or "reverse". At the same time a significant vibration happens. So I am back to square 1. Paid a ton of money to drive the car for another 9 months. As mentioned in my previous complaint, I have totally lost my faith in Toyota. Please note that this is my 3rd Corolla and previous ones worked with no significant repairs. No more Toyota vehicles for me.

Service rep at the dealership advised that they had seen 5 such problems on this make/model.

Opined that transmission was too powerful for car.

Corolla Le Premium 4.0L

jerking back when in reverse

I brought my car brand new, it is only a year old and already has to have a new transmission in it! I am very upset because I still make payments to this car and already have problems with it! I can see if it was something little like a gas pedal recall but a whole transmission being replaced? It doesn't make sense to me, why would I want my car now, it's suppose to be new not a new car with a replaced transmission in it. I don't feel safe in the car anymore, what if other problems arise later on since, a transmission went wrong only at 14,000 miles. I don't think it is right, I brought my car brand new and expect it to be cleared from problems for the first 5 years. A transmission is a big deal.
