On 11/30/2022 The CHECK light came on. After checking my Toyota manual it showed several reasons for the light. I called the Toyota Dealer (Bryan Easler, Hendersonville, NC) made an appointment for general service and inspection as to why the warning light came on. Was told the warning light was result of rodents chewing through the gas line causing fuel leak. This also happened about three years ago. Because the fuel system is all one piece it couldn't be repaired. I had to pay for a whole new fuel line system, second time I have had to pay for a whole new fuel system. There is no Toyota dealer my my area so I have to travel about forty miles for service. I am a very elderly half cripple woman long distance driving is tiring and dangerous for me, driving with a leaking gas line is dangerous for anyone. This is the second time I've dealt with this problem. There is something seriously wrong with a fuel line being exposed so animals can chew through it. It means I may have to replace it every time a rodent decides to dine on the fuel line. Where can I park and feel safe my gas line won't be destroyed? Not to mention all the other dangers a leaking fuel line can cause. It makes no sense why Toyota would manufacture such a disaster on any car.
I believe it is this fuel safety switch. At times the car will not turn over but when we push the reset button in the glove compartment, it will start up.
When my wife parks the car in the garage and I go out later the fuel pump is still running. This has happened twice that I know of now and you have to put the key back in and turn it on then shut it off. I feel this could be a serious problem if the pump over heats.
Fuel pump issue - when coming to a stop and stopped at a stop light or traffic, the engine sometimes sputters and the RPM drops below normal idling range, car starts to shake and feels like engine will stop. Acceleration (press gas pedal) is needed to increase RPM or shift transmission in neutral

We purchased my car in 2014 new. Come 2015 we had to replace the charcoal canister. I believe the car had @60,000 miles (yes, that's a lot but those are mostly highway miles)on it at this time. Luckily it was covered under warranty. 7/ 2019 we had the same problem. Less than 60, 000 miles more had been put on at this time. Guess what no warranty.! $1,000 later we have a new charcoal canister. It is now 2/2020, we are at 145,000 miles now and guess what" same problem. We've changed gas caps. We've done fuel treatments. We are now waiting on check engine light to come back on so we can take it back to the dealership (why is it off" because we just purchased the 3rd gas cap in 6mths and had to reset it to see if the gas cap was the cause.) problems: Check engine light comes on, I could hear the fuel being pushed through the lines, it would miss as you give it gas.sometimes it'swhen you are taking off but it done it while on the highway also, the cruising range is not accurate (ex: I just filled up. Usually it gives me 428 miles now its telling me 376) and the eco light goes off. Now the 1st 2 times were kind of different than this time. I think were are in the beginning stages at this point now for the 3rd time.
I was putting gas and when I'm going to turn on my car doesn't turn on just after 15 min later, this happened two times before I take it to Toyota dealer for a deep diagnostic.the result was the charcoal canister need to be replace but I saw online2.98 millions Toyota from year 2009-2015 has been recall fro same issue.I will like Toyota to cover for this issue.
I had just purchased a 2014 Toyota Corolla le eco, after only going 10 miles on a level dry evening surface, I was attempting to make a left hand turn up to go up hill. There was no response between the gas peddle and the engine. After two full depressions on the gas peddle, the peddle to engine finally engaged after a additional 1/2 peddle depression. The acception was a slow steady wind up and finally up to posted speed. This has happen 6 times in the last 3 1/2 months, with the last incident this week end. I had stopped driving this vehicle 1.5 months ago and just took it out for a 248 mile road this last week end.
