This Toyota ac compressor failed which sent pcs of aluminum throughout ac system ruining the entire ac system. Toyota knew of this product defect by proof of Toyota service bulletin Tsb-0086-14.
The dealer had to order parts. The compressor was found faulty. Arrived about a week later. Install time of about 3 hours. Surprised unit failed so soon with this little mileage.
Bought it brand new in late 2014. Problem started to surface after car passed the 36K miles. Finally have it fixed this year. Cost me over $2000 out of my own pocket. Will never buy another Toyota.
First car started not to cool when motor was on low rpm, and eventually a/c stop working. There is Toyota service bulletin T-SB-0086-14 where Toyota admits that corolla models 2014 and 2015 have problem with A/C compressor and since then A/C compressor has been upgraded to address this problem. The fact that this happened just 1000 miles out of warranty and that many of Toyota customers are stuck with huge bill to replace compressor is outrages. I will never purchase another Toyota product.

This is my GF's car (2014 Corolla), she bought the car brand new and the warranty covers up to 36,000 miles. It has 39K on it and the air condition condenser is shot. Only 3 years old and the air conditioner is gone ..about $1000 for parts and labor. Honest to god Toyota will not do anything to a customer with a 2/3 year old car ? Your warranty sucks ... Subaru will be the next vehicle she purchases ...
HEY TOYOTA MANAGEMENT !!!! .... do you want people to say "well Toyota came through even though I went a little over the mileage on the warranty" or do you want people to switch to an auto that has a better warranty ? It may not effect you this year or next year Toyota, but sooner or latter selling and not fixing cars with problems that occur within the first 4 years of owning a vehicle or at least not helping in some sort of manner will catch up with you. Here is a customer looking at Subaru instead of buying another Toyota ... all because you will not help her with an air conditioning issue that most likely should never had occurred.
Shame on you Toyota ... air conditioning unit should last more than 3 years. Yes it should, no excuse, your engineering staff should look at this.
Have had problems with AC since October of 2015. Dealer said that car was at 37000 miles and we would be responsible. Let problem go ( our fault for not pursuing ) and now it it June and very hot. Wanted dealer to give some good will to fix as I have two cars currently from Toyota and have owned Toys since 1985. Never had a problem until now. ready to trade it in on a Subaru! Can't believe I am making payments on a car w/o air. Two years and it breaks? Really!? Come on Toyota step up and fix this on your dime as you are already collecting mine monthly.
