Symptom: pull up to a stop sign or red light at night. Step on the brakes. The check engine light comes on along with the anti-skid icon light. Step on the accelerator pedal and the car won't move and the engine is at idle only. This only happens occasionally (once a month or so). The Check Engine Code was always P60E. Strangely enough, the issue was finally found to be the brake/tail light bulbs. I had installed LED units to replace the incandescent bulbs. This infrequently sent a signal to the main ECU when driving at night, to cut power to the engine IF the tail lights were ON AND the brake lights were ON. None of the dealers had a clue about this but Toyota corporate did, however, they had never sent out a TB or informed the dealers in any way, much less had a "preventive" solution to this software bug. I suggested a sticker on the tail assembly, warning of this on the cars affected (2009-2010-2011 Corolla and Matrix) if they did not want to properly do an ECU upload correcting this. The car seemed to know when I was stopped at the most busy and dangerous intersection possible and it never occurred on lonely back roads!!!
