I opened my trunk to place something inside and the trunk closed on me and hurt my back. This happened before and fortunately my granddaughter was able to stop it before it hit my back.this happens often when it is windy outside. The trunk never stays up and this can be very dangerous.
First, the trunk stopped opening from the inside. Also, the vsc off light, check engine light, and traction light all came on at the same time while I was driving and I have no idea why. The gas cap was on tightly, the fuel levels were right, there was no need for an oil change, and the car is only 2 1/2 years old in which I did not do any wreckless driving.
I notice that my trunk doesn't remain up after I open it. This is causing the hood to come down on my head. It is very dangerous. The other problem is that the driver's door opens out too far.
The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Corolla. While attempting to unload the trunk of the vehicle it suddenly closed on the contact injuring his head. The vehicle failure was not diagnosed and there were no prior warnings. The current mileage was 16000 and the failure mileage was 14000. Updated 12/15/10. The consumer stated to his knowledge, Toyota did not install any type of support mechanism. Updated 12/27/10
