The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the vehicle decelerated independently and jerked forward. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer three times and the contact was informed that the torque converter was seizing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and sent an engineer to examine the vehicle. The engineer advised that the vehicle was operating as designed. The failure mileage was 9,258...updated 09-19-12 the consumer stated the gas pedal is too sensitive. It is difficult to maintain low speeds. The vehicle was once recalled for this problem.
