While driving on the highway I noticed the car started to turn on it's own either left or right. At first, I thought it might be the wind affecting the way that the car turns...but that would seem really unethical if that were the case. I took it to multiple mechanics to have them tell me the control arm bushings were SEVERELY worn out and needed to be replaced immediately or as soon as possible. I was told by all mechanics that the car should be stationary and shouldn't be driven. This had no affect on the engine or transmission, but severely wore out not only my tires but my wallet too. The previous owners didn't do anything to the car except oil changes so that's lovely to know i'm the only person who gives a sh*t.

I was quoted anywhere between $650 to $800 for a full repair - parts and labor. If the control arm itself breaks, it's possible you may run off the road, spin out, etc. It's a very serious problem. The control arms control the steering of the wheels, so as you could imagine, something like that breaking? You're screwed.

Moral here is: Toyota isn't considered unreliable for this, I don't blame them for that. I blame the previous owners for not taking care of their car. I don't care what kind of car you own, DO YOUR MAINTENANCE PEOPLE!!!
