There is a real concern that there is an issue with the airbags and there are no parts readily available to resolve what we are being told is a dangerous situation. Families are being told to not use the front seat of their cars. Another option is to ask the dealer for a loaner. I don't see the dealer having that many loaner cars. Most families only have one car and it needs to accommodate the members, which is our situation. We are really concerned about the timeliness of this resolution.

I received a safety recall notice from Toyota about 6 months ago, telling me that the supplemental restraint system electronic control unit (SRS ECU) has been recalled and needs to be replaced. (NHTSA recall id 15V285) at that time, I was told that parts were not available to replace the SRS ECU, but that I would be told at a later date when they were available so that I could have this issue fixed. Earlier this week, I got another recall notice for the same issue. All they told me in this newest notice is that the problem still exists and that parts are *still* not available to replace the SRS ECU. Their recommendation is to not have anyone sit in the front passenger seat until I am able to have this problem fixed. This is unacceptable. I have to take my father to a doctor's appointment in a month. He is over 6 feet tall. I am* going to make him sit in the back seat between two child seats. I am certainly not going to make him drive himself as his doctor has insisted that he have a ride to and from his procedure. I have contacted Toyota directly, and have been told by the person who answered the phone that they have idea* when these parts will be available. This is completely unacceptable and a fine example of poor customer service. These parts need to be produced, tested, and made available as quickly as possible.

I am told by the dealer that there is no fix available for this air bag recall. I feel that I am driving on wing and a prayer. I will have to inform any passenger of this problem and that they would be riding at their on risk. This is a huge problem that has been known about for a long time and should have been resolved by now. Your sharholders should be more interested in saving lives than the dividends they receive.

A car crossed my lane from a parking lot causing me to "T-bone" the other vehicle at 40mph. The airbag inflated with a huge force and noise, hitting me in the face, chest and right arm--knocked me out and left me dazed for a while after. There was what I thought was white smoke that filled up the driver and front passenger area. When I got my belongings out of my vehicle several days later, I noticed little bits of what looked like some flecks of dark metal or plastic on the floorboard and passenger seat. I sustained contusions and multiple abrasions to my chest and right arm, two dislocated ribs, a torn rotator cuff and three bulging cervical disks. I had contusions and abrasions on my knees.
