The contact owns a 2004 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that while driving at 40 mph, the vehicle would hesitate to accelerate. In addition, the vehicles horn failed to operate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15V043000 (air bags) and stated that the part needed for the repair was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 150,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
Consumer states that brake pedal was too close to the gas pedal. When the brakes were depressed the consumer's foot also pressed the gas pedal which almost caused an accident. (shawn T. hebley 08/20/03)
